Someone recently asked me whether I have ever been hiking. As someone who loves to walk my eyes lit up. A long challenging hike is always energising. Then for a moment my mind went to more challenging outdoor activities I have been part of; in particular rock-climbing.

When we climb rocks, or any peak for that matter, our goal is to get to the climax. Each step of the way requires that we give up the safety of the current level we find ourselves on. The certainty of the current level creates a sense of safety that can prevent us from exploring the adventure of the next step up. Safety can prevent us from reaching that climax. Yet to get to the future we must let go of the present.

After three and a half years of leading the amazing team at Airtel Ghana, the time is right for me to move on to the next chapter. It has been a truly remarkable journey and I thank each and every one of you for your support, encouragement and business partnership over the course of my stewardship. We are proud of our achievements. Particularly, I want to thank all those who have been part of the many initiatives I have led over the last few years to empower young people and every young person who works with me for that matter. Notably the Evolve with STEM and the Bold New Normal initiatives.

I look forward to empowering more young people even as I continue my professional leadership journey. Together we will create the Bold New Normal of prosperity for our country and continent.

And always remember to keep climbing!
